Beetroot Dosa

Beetroot dosa is a simple yet healthy and colorful dosa which can be made with dosa or idly batter.

 Grind the beetroot with some cumin seeds and green chili, add it to the batter and make dosas.

 Beetroots are rich folate which plays a key role in growth, development and heart healthy. They are

 rich in fiber which benefits your digestive health. Beets are not only nutritious but also incredibly

 delicious and easy to incorporate into your diet. Beets can be consumed raw or cooked. Today's

 recipe is a colorful and healthy breakfast dish, am sure your family specially kids will definitely love

 it.  Beetroot dosa- this recipe goes to week 4 Day 1 of Blogging Marathon 130 under the theme "

 Kids Delight - Healthy Breakfast Recipes".







We need:


Dosa batter  2 cups

Beetroot 1 medium

Green chili 2

Salt to taste

Oil


Method:


Peel the skin of beetroot and cut into pieces.

Cook beetroot pieces and  chilies  with very little water until nice and soft.

Let it cool completely  to blend into  smooth paste.

Add this paste  dosa batter along with salt to taste.

Heat non stick dosa pan / dosa tawa.

Add 2 table spoon full of dosa batter on the tawa and spread around as dosa.

Add little oil at the edges and on the middle of dosa.

Cook on medium flame till you see that the edges of dosa is leaving the pan a bit.

Now flip the dosa and cook on other side for another 1 minute.

Remove and serve hot with any spicy  chutney.

That is a wonderful color from the beetroot and my boys will eat a couple more dosai just because of the color. What a great idea this is.
