Balila is a Levantine / Lebanon dish consisting of cooked chickpeas with lime juice, fresh garlic,

cumin powder, salt and Olive oil. It is known as poor man's dish in Lebanon. Making Balila is super

simple. It is served warm with some pita bread on side. Balila is highly nutritious  dish rich in

protein, fiber, iron, calcium and Vitamin C. Fresh garlic in this dish helps boost your immunity,

which makes it a  perfect dish for winter.

Sehriyali Pilavi

Batata Harra

Chickpeas  2  cup

Fresh Garlic cloves minced 1 tbsp

Olive oil 2 tbsp

Salt to taste

Cumin powder 1 tsp

I have used dried chickpeas here, so i have washed them and soaked in water over night.

Now presser cook the soaked chickpeas along with garlic and 3 cups water for 4-5 whistles.

Let the presser release naturally.

Add salt , lime juice, cumin powder and Olive oil.

Mix everything  well and serve hot with some pita bread.
