Mushroom Peas Masala

White Mushrooms are high in protein, vitamin D and Vitamin B 12. White Mushrooms are low in

calories and sugars. Mushrooms are best for those who want to start a plant based diet. Today I will

be preparing Mushroom Peas Masala which goes very well with any mild pulao or roti. This recipe

goes to week 4 day 3 of Blogging Marathon 13 under the theme " Protein Rich food ".

 Ingredients:

White Mushrooms chopped 2 cups

Green peas 1 /2 cup

Chopped onion 1 /2 cup

Chopped tomato 1/2 cup

Ginger garlic paste 1/2 tsp

Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp

Mustards seeds 1/4 tsp

Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp

Curry leaves 4

Dry coconut powder 1/4 cup

Cashew nuts 10

Chili powder 1/2 tsp

Garam masala 1/4 tsp

Chopped cilantro 1/4 cup

Oil 1 tbsp

Preparation:

In a pan heat 1 tsp oil and add chopped white mushrooms, cook till they are 80% cooked.

Meanwhile in  a sauce pan boil water, add green peas and cook for 5 -6 minutes.

Once the mushrooms are cooked remove them to another  boil and set aside.

No add rest of the oil to the pan, add mustards seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves and chopped onions.

Cook till the onions turn light brown, now add ginger garlic paste and turmeric powder.

Cook till the raw smells disappears, add tomato and cook.

Now grind coconut and cashew nuts to smooth paste.

Once tomatoes turn soft  add cooked mushrooms and peas, also add ground paste.

Mix well, add garam masala, salt, chili powder and a cup of water.

Cover and cook for 5-6 minutes on medium heat.

Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot with pulao or roti.
