Peanut Sauce ~ Satay Sauce

Peanut Sauce or Satay Sauce is made with roasted and grounded peanuts. Widely used in Thai, Vietnam, Malaysian, Chinese and Indonesian Cuisines. Peanuts being the main ingredient, we also add soy sauce, chili paste and coconut milk to give the extra flavor to this sauce.

Peanut sauce goes well with meat and vegetables. This sauce is usually served with grilled meat ( satay)  or veggies as a dipping sauce. Can be served with fried rolls or veggie rolls. This recipe goes to week 3, day 3 of Blogging Marathon 115 under the theme " Accomplishments". Here goes the creamy peanut sauce recipe......

Peanut Butter 1 cup
Thai chili paste 2 spoons
Soy sauce 1 1/2 spoon
Sugar 1 spoon
Coconut milk 1 cup
Pinch of salt
Cumin powder 1/4 spoon
Garlic paste 1/4 spoon

Heat non stick pan and add garlic paste, chili paste, soy sauce and peanut butter.
Mix it well and cook on low to medium flame.

After 3 minutes add sugar, cumin powder, salt and coconut milk.
Mix it well keeping the flame on low.
Now cook till the sauce become bit thick and has a smoothie texture.
Should not be too thick or too thin.
That it switch off flame and let it cool.

Cool the sauce  completely before refrigerating.
Store in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
